Weeks 22, 23, 24, 25 & 26!

Alright moving hard and fast here five while weeks in one post! Oooh the excitement! Spring is turning into summer which means so much more agreeable weather for activities!

Week 22 – May 30: Horse Races! In Lethbridge these ran every Saturday through the summer months. and if you went early in the morning they had an unreal brunch. It’s such a fun date! I LOVE horse races, its fun to bet on horses and just watch them! Do some research beforehand to understand all the different ways you can bet which will increase your odds of some sort of win. If you don’t want to bet then just enjoy it! It’s so much fun to watch, it also is a great all day activity with beer available and the opportunity to dress up if you want! I remember going to the races in PEI a few summers ago, it was awesome and after Friday’s races I just wanted to go back to the races all weekend! GO its GREAT FUN!

Week 23 – June 6: Classic Go-Carting/Mini-golfing. Yeah its a pretty standard and classic date, but the weather is getting better, and you might as well practice your mini game before you go out and tear up the real gold course this season. Also racing in any way is fun, so why not do it in a little cart around a track, you have a roll bar and even than as if you’ll actually flip it! Have at ‘er I think this date is still a classic because it’s still affordable entertainment. Have fun kids.

Week 24 – June 13: Kite Flying. Sounds lame right, well if you live off the eastern slopes I can almost guarantee at least one day a week will have some sort of breeze or wind strong enough to kick up a kite and entertain you. Sound boring? Add a twist – try to make it do tricks and flips? Or bring along a picnic. Make it your own and enjoy it. It’s basically free!

Week 25 – June 20: Master a Beer Olympic Sport. Since we are so close to the first day of summer and the longest day of the year might as well spend it perfecting a beer Olympic sport so you’re not owned when the Olympics do come up. This year I really wanted to be better at Beersbie, well still didn’t destroy at Beersbie, BUT made it to the semis in KanJam and that’s a win in itself considering my skills with a disc last year. So if you think that date of yours is gonna stick around up until the beer olympics better get them trained up and the team dynamic going!

Week 26 – June 27: Disc Golf. What a great and cheap way to spend an afternoon. It’s somewhat something that gets you moving which is awesome! Wooooo choosing an activity! You can lug along a cooler of whatever you want and just enjoy the day, keep score or don’t just enjoy it. It is WAY more entertaining than Golf i promise. Enjoy it and walk you don’t need a cart for this stuff!

More Dates! Weeks 17-22

Ok so the game of catch up begins, but don’t worry. Even though the time has passed for these dates on the weeks they were intended, you can always use them later on. Store them somewhere high up on a shelf and pull them out when your strapped for ideas, which was the intention of these dates anyways. 🙂

Week 17 – April 25: Go to a comedy show, the weather may still not be too top shelf to spend evenings comfortably outside so go on an enjoy the indoors while it’s still acceptable. I strongly suggest going out to a comedy show. For one it will get you giggling, it will also likely be inside and there may be some hilariously inappropriate jokes that will either make your date squirm with awkwardness or roll on the floor from laughing to hard. Either way it will be fun, and paying attention to someone else make fun of themselves takes the edge off you if you do something silly like spilling an entire pitcher of beer on your crotch. Yeah I’ve seen a date of mine do that, coincidentally it was also the middle of winter which made it that much more hilarious. I imagine that evening was a chilly walk home, good thing we only had to walk a few blocks.

Week 18 – May 2: Art Gallery. It may not sound that appealing, but seriously it’s actually really neat. Art has so many forms that we may not always immediately think of when we think of art, but going to a gallery gives you a chance to really appreciate these installations. You get a real appreciation for an artists work and creative process and that is pretty neat! Its more low-key and may need you to turn up your brain power, or turn it right down that depends on who you are, but its interesting and different and that’s what a date is supposed to be about!

Week 19 – May 9: Casino! Maybe this is a little weird date, but if you like chasing the thrill of it within some limits of course its a fun time. I remember in university we all would go out to the casino maybe once a semester and play some blackjack and roulette. It’s a good time cause you have the opportunity to win more money, or lose some depending on your luck or card counting if you’re an Alan. But your date isn’t entirely focused on you and you can check them out in a win-lose situation that may give you a glimpse in to how they take risks, it can also provide a wee adrenaline rush depending on your odds and that is fun too!

Week 20 – May 16: Camping!! Since it is May long weekend and in Alberta an almost guaranteed rainy weekend why not go camping. Test your survival skills, which can include splitting wood, making a fire, and drinking beer. Even though the weather might be rubbish it’s still the first camping trip of the year and that makes it pretty sweet!

Week 21 – May 23: Head out to a range or the farm and shoot some stuff. Its fun, your handling ammo (sweet) and you can compare targets after it all. If you can do both rifle and bow shooting might as well it will be a fun experience. Just know where your safety is and that you don’t leave the chamber loaded. Have fun kids!
